This product is made by Jakeman's Maple Products.
Jakeman's have been makers of Maple Syrup since 1876. The local Native Canadians taught the maple syrup making technique to the Jakeman family. They were shown how to collect sap from maple trees in the early spring and boil it down in an iron kettle over an open wood fire until it was a syrupy golden brown. Jakeman Family keeps their equipment updated, enlarged their operation, improved the quality of their products.
The family tradition continues with Bob and Mary Jakeman and family, who maintain the production of some of the finest maple syrup from over 1000 taps. All the sap is collected by plastic pipeline and transported to our sugar shanty (next to our country store) where it is then boiled in our modern, high efficiency natural gas fired steam evaporator and then finished on a steam finishing pan. The maple syrup is graded and then bottled for use throughout the year.
Jakeman's Maple Products produces only 100% pure and natural Maple Syrup that is Government of Canada inspected and Certified. Over the years, Jakeman’s has received recognition across the world for their maple products. The National Post composed a blind taste-test in 2004 to determine that Jakeman's is Canada's best Maple Syrup. In 2012 and 2013, Jakeman's received the Ontario Premier's Award for Agri-Food Innovation Excellence.
